Waterfront Rental on Ochlockonee Bay

THE HOME This is a classic Old Florida-style bay house: bright, casual, and set up for spending most of the day outside. The living room, dining area, and kitchen flow together and look out toward the water, with the patio, lawn, beach, and dock just beyond. It works well for families, fishing groups, couples, and snowbirds who want a quiet base on the Forgotten Coast for a few nights or a few months. LIVING ROOM Comfortable seating, a TV with streaming apps (log in with your own accounts), plenty of natural light, and access to the outdoor areas. A second sitting area is a good spot for reading or morning coffee. DINING AREA A dining table that seats the whole group, with views toward the bay and direct access to the patio. KITCHEN A bright full kitchen with stainless appliances: full-size range and oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, rice maker, and coffee maker. Pots, pans, baking sheets, dishes, wine glasses, children's dinnerware, and a stocked spice cabinet mean you can cook your catch the night you bring it in. BEDROOMS Bedroom 1: king bed, generous storage, and natural light. Bedroom 2: twin-over-twin bunk bed plus a twin trundle. Sleeps 3 and is a great fit for kids. Bedroom 3: queen bed. A travel crib is available. BATHROOMS Two full bathrooms. One has a separate soaking tub and walk-in shower, and the other has a tub and shower combo. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer are provided. LAUNDRY AND WORKSPACE A laundry room with washer and dryer, helpful for longer stays and sandy beach days. A built-in desk nook off the kitchen gives you a spot for a laptop, with Wi-Fi throughout the home. OUTDOORS AND WATERFRONT The outdoor space is the heart of this stay. The patio faces the bay with Adirondack chairs, outdoor dining, and a BBQ grill. A large lawn runs between the house and the water, with room for kids to play. Below it is a private sandy beach and a private fishing dock. The dock is shared with one neighbor whose side has been unfinished for years, so it sees little use beyond our guests. Two kayaks with paddles and life vests are included, along with a fish cleaning station and a hammock. Sunsets over the bay are the highlight of most stays. FISHING AND BOATING Fish right from the dock, or launch your own boat at the Ochlockonee Bay Boat Ramp about a mile away. Redfish and speckled trout are popular targets in the cooler months, and Bald Point's oyster bars offer good wade fishing. Bringing a boat? Message us before arrival and we will go over the dock and boat lift. A Florida saltwater fishing license is required for most anglers. LONGER STAYS AND WINTER VISITS The home is set up for weeks or months, not just weekends: single-level living, a full kitchen, laundry, a workspace, central heat, and self check-in. Winter brings mild days, quiet roads, and some of the best sunsets of the year. THE AREA A quiet residential waterfront street in Panacea, a small fishing town with an Old Florida feel and local seafood restaurants close by. About 1 mile to Bayside Marina and the boat ramp, 3 miles to Mashes Sands Beach and Bald Point State Park, 4 miles to Gulf Specimen Aquarium, and about 34 miles to Tallahassee International Airport. Wakulla Springs and St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge make easy day trips. THE STAY Coffee on the patio while the bay wakes up. Afternoons on the dock or out in a kayak. Fresh fish on the grill and the sun going down over the water. Whether it is a long weekend of fishing or a month away from winter, this is a place to slow down.

No smoking. No pets. No events, parties, or large gatherings. Primary renter must be at least 25 years old. Please park a maximum of 3 vehicles in the gravel driveway. The property is waterfront and includes a dock, please supervise children near the water. An exterior security camera is located at the front of the home and faces outward only.

PRIVATE DOCK, ONE NEIGHBOR The dock is private, not public. It is shared with the neighbor to the left (facing the water), whose side has been unfinished for years, so they rarely use it. Dock hours apply. Details are in the house rules. ON THE WATER The home sits directly on open water. Life vests are provided for the kayaks. NEIGHBORHOOD This is a quiet residential street, and neighborhood dogs can sometimes be heard. SECURITY CAMERA One exterior security camera at the front of the home faces outward only and does not monitor any interior space. PARKING The gravel driveway fits up to 3 vehicles. OLD FLORIDA CHARACTER This is a classic bay house with Old Florida charm rather than new construction.
